To begin with, the rose is beautiful, so good selection. Also I like how the bright, natural colors of the flower stand out against the dark background. The angle of the captured picture was good. You could try playing around with different angles to see what you could do. However, the edges of the flower kind of blend in with the background. The dark red petal that surround the flower. Now, I am not a photographer, I draw and paint, so forgive me if I sound ignorant. I am just giving you the opinion of an observer. Anyway, maybe you could play around with the light setting of the camera and see how you could change that. You could make the light more intense and have it catch the viewers eye. Also, this is a pretty common snapshot. To make the work original, and make it your own, play with it. Make a light come out from somewhere or something. Be creative and step outside the box. Overall though, it is a pretty nice photo. These are just crazy ideas from a crazy person that you could experiment with if you feel like it.
