~Not Alone~

I never knew I could feel this way
I never could see past yesterday
You feel that everything is gone
I feel it too, you're not alone</a>

Hi,
The first thing that struck me about this image is how dark it is - but I see from your gallery that your pictures are mostly nicely exposed, so is it an intended effect here? I think the subject of the image would jump out much more if it was slightly better lit and exposed. Also the colours seem desaturated, or altered somehow - it's quite a nice effect, sort of 'classic'-looking - but without any white tones it does look a little flat, not 'punchy'. as they say.
Thirdly I think composition here is a bit off - all the flowers except the central one have the edges cut off, it makes it harder to pick out the shapes and subject. I think if the aim is to have the foreground flowers stand out, they should be larger, all in the frame, and background ones should be all blurred for contrast. But if the aim is a sort of 'carpet of flowers' effect, maybe there should be more of them (if possible!). I don't know what was outside the frame, but it seems like zooming in or out here would have helped?

Having said that, the focus is pin sharp; perhaps a little soft on that bottom left bit but otherwise very nice. It's one of those pictures I wish there was a massive resolution available so I could zoom in and look at all the detail - it looks like you've captured the details wonderfully.
